Born at altitude.
Shilajit is a dark resinous material formed by natural processes in mountain regions. Here it is sold as a food supplement for adults.
02 / 04
Dark, dense, slow.
Glossy and almost black, it stretches more than it pours. This is what the resin looks like in the pot.

Sealed in black glass.
A 30 g pot with a black lid and a gold-foil label. Nothing else on the front.

What it is
What is Himalayan shilajit resin?
Shilajit, also called mumijo, is a resinous material, often dark brown with a characteristic smell, formed by natural processes in mountain regions. A European Commission novel-food record calls it a complex product of organic and mineral origin that is not uniquely defined by origin or composition. Our resin is sold here as a food supplement for adults.
A resin, in a 30 g pot
Satiovex Himalayan Shilajit Resin is sold here as a food supplement for adults, in a 30 g black glass pot.
Same name, different pots
The Commission record does not define shilajit uniquely by origin or by composition. Two pots with the same name can differ, so the label matters more than the name on the front.
The pot’s words, not ours
When this page quotes our pot, it uses the pot’s own words and says so. They are not our claims.
The pot says:
“Product of Nepal”
Quoted exactly as printed on the pot, in the language printed. This is the packaging’s wording, not ours. A quotation is not a verification.
Source: European Commission, novel-food consultation on mumijo (shilajit) and the matching entry in its Novel Food Status Catalogue. A description of the material, not an approval of any product.

How long does a pot last?
A pot holds 30 g, which is 30,000 mg of resin, and a pack holds that much for every pot. How long it lasts depends on the daily amount printed on your pot’s label, if it gives one: divide the total by that amount in mg.

Before you buy
How to read any shilajit label
Six checks. Any pot, any seller, ours included.
Origin statement
Look for an origin written plainly, such as a country. Read it as the seller’s own statement. A place in a product name is a name, not an origin statement.
Ingredients
Look for a list that names every ingredient. Check whether the pot holds shilajit alone or has other additions, and whether the list names anything you want to avoid.
Lot number and best-before date
Look for a lot (batch) number and a best-before date. They tie the pot in your hands to one production run, so you and the seller can refer to the same product.
The serving as printed
Look for the recommended serving and a warning not to exceed it. With a resin you take out your own amount, so the label has to say what one serving is.
Who sells it, and where
Look for the seller’s name and a full postal address. A seller you cannot identify is a reason to pause.
Age and pregnancy notices
Look for an age limit and a line about pregnancy, breastfeeding and medication, plus a reminder to keep the pot out of reach of children.
Hold every seller to the same list, ours included.
